Geismar Corporation was founded in 1924 in Colmar, France supplying tools and hardware to the growing railway industry. In the years following WWII, with Europe undergoing unprecedented reconstruction and mechanization, Geismar contributed the first lag-bolting machine. Within Geismar, the following decades brought development in all areas of railway maintenance worldwide. These developments include: in the 1960's heavy machines for track works and renewal; in the 1970's the focus was on development of turnkey factories for wood tie manufacture, rail welding and the production of the first series of track motor cars; the 1980's brought about development of OHL maintenance vehicles along with related tools and components; for the 1990's inspection equipment was the focus of research and development.
With over three quarters of a century of experience in the railway and transit industry, Geismar has a single focus - to provide solutions and products that enhance our rail customers' operations and performance safely. Our talented team of sales, engineering and technical staff, nationwide, is committed to providing the highest quality of products and service available to the industry. From a modest beginning in Colmar, France in 1924, Geismar.
